Sakis Tolis at Schoolwave

It's been a few months! I have been to a concert, but that was Metallica and thus will not get its own post here. But I just need to say how fortunate I was to find tickets and how fantastic the night was with my friend Giota! So much headbanging, they played all the awesome bangers! It was a totally crushing night!

Now to the topic at hand haha! Sakis Tolis has been releasing solo material. He has started to tour a bit with this, too. He plays his own songs and a few rotting Christ songs.

This happened at Schoolwave, a free festival with only student bands and one guest act per night. The excitement was huge when I heard Sakis will play! It's been a little while since I last saw rotting Christ and I did miss it! So this was a perfect opportunity.

It was a fantastic small set with some of his songs like "the origin", "my salvation ", "welcome to my party" and the ritualistic daemonia nymphe cover "nocturnal Hecate". But then he also played rotting Christ songs "holy mountain", "του θάνατου παράγγειλα", an old curse, as well as the must-song that closes most rotting Christ shows, Non Serviam!! What a pleasant surprise!!

I enjoyed this immensely! Headbanged lots! It was a smaller set, but just the joy of hearing these songs again, seeing sakis once more! Awesome. As always, brothers and sisters, keep the Hellenic scene alive! Stay true!

Kawir - 30 years to Cavirs προς Κάβειρους!!

An anniversary and a fantastic reason to go see Kawir once more! I couldn't let this slip by. It's also my first time in temple, a rather new concert venue in Athens.

When I arrived Likno were playing. Very interesting concept, a female as frontgrunter, I'm in for this!! She did an excellent job, as all of the band.

The place was so packed and sold out, I fled to the balcony and had a fairly good view there. And most importantly, I could headbang unhindered there 😁

Kawir started their set with dancers, see first pic, and I love this. This is part of their pagan belief and music and it fits perfectly. The set list was the whole to cavirs album, then a short dance break, and then some more classics that we all love.

They played some of my most beloved songs!! I was absolutely delighted. Artemis!! Dionysos!! Χαίρε, τριμορφη θέα!! And as always, the most awesome hail Bacchus in the end, where the whole place becomes a pagan ceremony, a pagan worship!! This is what it's all about and I salute Kawir for their breathtaking concert. It was all it should be. Pagan minds unite 🖤
